Children's NHS dentistry

We provide NHS dentistry for children and we are currently accepting new child NHS patients.

The early development of a child’s teeth is important in determining how their teeth will continue to develop into adulthood. Warning Signs can start to show around the ages of 7-8 as they will have already started to have their permanent teeth come through (starting around age 6!). We recommend regular visits to the dentist at this age so we can ensure their teeth are coming in nicely and spot any potential future problems they may have.

Our friendly dentists have had many years of experience treating children and will be able to spot any warning signs with their teeth, reducing the chance of a serious condition developing as they grow up.

      Keep your child’s smile healthy

You are the best person to help your child to understand the importance of keeping their teeth clean and fresh. Encourage them to brush regularly (using some of the tips below) and talk to them about the effects diet and lifestyle can have on their teeth and gums.

We are here to support you at every stage of your child’s development. At Hayes Dental Specialists, our experienced Hayes dentists will provide a thorough examination of your child’s teeth, remove any plaque build up, and talk to them about their dental hygiene.

Help your child to keep a healthy smile by:

      • Reducing sugary snacks and drinks
      • Using a fluoride toothpaste
      • Visiting the dentist on a regular basis
      • Implementing a positive dental routine; brush well, twice a day

        Confident children mean confident adults

How often do you hear of people who are scared to visit the dentist? Often, it’s the unknown and lack of familiarity that nurtures fears and anxieties. You can help your child become dentist-confident. Regular visits to the dentist for check ups will help them to understand the processes and what to expect, as well as build a relationship with their own local Hayes Dental Specialists dentist that will last into adult life.

        Practice prevention

Prevention is always better than a cure, and regular check ups at Hereford Dental & Implant Clinic for your child are invaluable for halting tooth decay and gum disease, maintaining a bright smile into adulthood.
